SORROW THROUGH THE EYES OF A CHILD
She wasn't in her chair no more
like a scene within a play
to whom it may concern or not
my mummy's gone away
The King of pain with sadness
has said she's gone for good
to see her face just one more time
I really wish I could
I'm cold and really frightened
so please come back and stay
protect me from my darkest thoughts
until my dying day
THE STAIRWAY TIME NEARLY FORGOT
Ninety minutes
After climbing
Into a black
And white
Photograph
I became
Picture perfect
In an extremely
Colourful way
FAMILY PORTRAIT
I have a son called David
who is my little pal
I love him very dearly
I know I always shall
I also have a father
I don't like half as much
he took me to a hospital
and hit me with a crutch
I have a younger brother
who makes me laugh out loud
he ran away to join the fair
which made me very proud
I used to have a mother
who sadly passed away
she was a special woman
that's all I have to say
IN MY OWN MIND
With hope and faith we elevate
With heart and soul we separate
In love and life we overrate
With stolen thoughts we contemplate
(And so it goes, and so it goes)
With lack of trust we hesitate
With despair and fear we dislocate
In troubled times we isolate
With a twist of fate we complicate
(And so it goes, and so it goes)
BANANA SPLITS PENNY A PUNT
(New Spoken Word - Verse One)
Morning light has broken
which I try so hard to fix
Illusions of sheer grandeur
In my box of magic tricks
(New Spoken Word - Verse Two)
A book of missing pictures
doesn't make much sense
neither does ten bars of gold
without a garden fence
(New Spoken Word - Verse Three)
Egotistic brace and bits
made from balls of wool
a monkey with a painted face
looking very cool
(New Spoken Word - Verse Four)
I lost my mind a year ago
when I moved into a squat
they say my life is over now
but I really hope it's not
BLISSFUL BOREDOM
Roderick was a vagabond
his sidekick was a thief
they wined and dined at 169
but never gave me grief
A Technicolor picture frame
filmed in black and white
matchstick men with attitude
such wonderful delight
Birthday blitz, banana splits
surpassed and so serene
quaint essential men of style
heard but never seen
I stand by all the things I say
with rain crowds in the sky
I cant get used to losing you
no matter how I try
SO UNEXPECTED (PART IV)
